Pick up service is at 6.00 am by our driver in front of your hotel.
On the way through the desert of the Khushma’an Bedouins, you will get first impressions about the fascination of the desert. You are accompanied by an experienced guide, who will tell you many facts about the desert, the rocks, the flora and fauna and the life of the bedouins and also many facts of the history of the imperial Granite Quarries.
After 2 hours drive, we arrive at our target, the quarries of Mons Claudianus. At the end of the first century throughout 200 years, the granite was mined. The Italian name "Granito del foro" states where the material was used. But the material was also installed in the Pantheon in Rome.
After breakfast, we make a walkaround (approx. 1,5 h) through the whole historical area.
After a BBQ in the desert, we drive back with a stop at an oasis.
